Pak-Arab Refinery Ltd. (PARCO) participated in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) through its representation in the Pakistan Pavilion setup by Petroleum Institute of Pakistan from November 7-10, 2016 at Abu Dhabi’s National Exhibition Centre. ADIPEC is one of the world’s most influential energy sector events. It’s focus is on evaluating new potential in Asia and Africa, also exploring regional and international investment opportunities in a rapidly changing and dynamic markets of Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources (MP&NR), Petroleum Institute of Pakistan (PIP) and leading oil and gas companies featured prominently in this event at the grand Pakistan Pavilion. The aesthetically designed and constructed Pakistan Pavilion with the theme, “Pakistan – a land of emerging opportunities” was set up to provide the delegates an excellent opportunity for networking and exploring new business opportunities. Approximately 95,000 people attended the event including over 8,500 registered delegates.
PARCO, a successful joint venture between the Government of Pakistan and Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has a proven track record of implementing and commissioning energy projects showing strong financial and entrepreneurial accomplishments. Following a modular growth pattern, the Company has invested considerably in the oil & gas sector in Pakistan and is willing to invest further in medium and large projects, following its long-term roadmap. PARCO’s aim is to join hands with worldwide technology partners who can add value to PARCO’s investments.
In its endeavors to bring FDI, PARCO arranged a series of focused meetings with Pakistan delegation, led by the Federal Minister of Petroleum & Natural Resources, Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and State Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources, Mr. Jam Kamal Khan and international leading petroleum companies including the main sponsors of the event, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), Saudi Aramco and Citibank. Mr. Tariq Rizavi, Managing Director-PARCO, Mr. Shahid Mahmood Khan, DMD Finance & Corporate Affairs and Mr. Zawar Haider, GM Marketing & Commercial represented PARCO.
The theme of the event was ‘Strategies for the New Energy Landscape’. A ministerial session was also held under the patronage of H.E. Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, UAE.
