The Petroleum Institute of Pakistan (PIP), a representative body of the oil and gas sectors in Pakistan organized its flagship “Pakistan Oil & Gas Conference’’ on Thursday November 2, 2017 at the Marriott Hotel, Islamabad with the theme: “Emerging Fuel Mix for Pakistan & Market’s Outlook”.
The objective of the conference was to provide a valuable platform for local/international stakeholders and policy makers, including the Government of Pakistan, to discuss and analyze the key oil and gas sector issues in Pakistan and their possible solutions.
The conference explored and elaborated areas of focus for the industry and the Government, as well as, provided policy guidance and recommendations to increase activity and investment in the sector, with focus on oil and gas exploration and energy efficiency. The conference provided a set of recommendations which are based on the long term energy solutions for Pakistan for securing higher GDP growth and economic development on a sustainable basis.
Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was the Chief Guest at the Conference.
The conference emphasized the need for an integrated energy plan, regulatory reforms, extending the security measures taken for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to the oil and gas industry.
PARCO actively participated at the conference and also set up a stall showcasing its diversified business portfolio, subsidiaries and Joint Ventures. The conference was attended by MD PARCO, Mr. Tariq Rizavi, CEO PAPCO, Mr. Shujauddin Ahmed, GM Marketing and Commercial, Mr. Zawar Haider and other senior and middle management of PARCO.
